The
Minnesota Youth Jazz Bands are open by audition to all musicians
high school age or younger in the greater Twin Cities area.
Three bands will rehearse weekly, perform several concerts, and record a CD during the 2008/2009 school year. The purpose
of the program is to give young musicians further opportunities
to learn and perform together, in an environment of high
expectations and standards.
The instrumentation of each band is: five saxophones (two
altos, two tenors, one baritone), four trombones, five trumpets,
piano, bass, drums, and guitar. Auditions for the 2009/2010
season will be held in August of 2009.
If you're interested in
having a great time learning challenging jazz music in the
company of other fine young musicians, we hope you'll join
us next year! Please apply by
printing out and mailing the application form.
