The
Minnesota Youth Jazz Bands are open by audition to all musicians
high school age or younger in the greater Twin Cities area.
Three bands will rehearse weekly, perform several concerts, and record a CD during the 2008/2009 school year. The purpose
of the program is to give young musicians further opportunities
to learn and perform together, in an environment of high
expectations and standards.
The instrumentation of each band will be: five saxophones
(two altos, two tenors, one baritone), four trombones, five
trumpets, piano, bass, drums, and guitar. Auditions will
be held in August of 2008. Rehearsals will begin
in September of 2008.
